Earth Science Data System Working Group (ESDSWG)

NASA currently suports four working groups that comprise the ESDSWG (each focus on a critical aspect of Earth science data systems. These open working groups bring together NASA funded science and technology participants along with other community members from academia, Federal agencies, and the private sector. Their objectives are to address critical technology issues related to earth science data and aid in the overall improvement of NASA's Earth science data systems.
Due to the nature of our MEaSUREs project, we decided to join and be part of the "Technology Infusion" working group. The purpose of the Technology Infusion Working Group is to enable NASA's Earth Science Enterprise to reach its research, application, and education goals more quickly and cost effectively through widespread adoption of key emerging information technologies.?To accomplish this, the working group will focus on two tasks:

  • Define and conduct community-based processes to identify needed capabilities and technologies; and
  • Define approaches and processes to infuse new technologies into the evolving ESE data systems.
